The Los Angeles Angels have claimed infielder Livan Soto off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. The Angels placed left-hander Jose Quijada on the 60-day IL to make room for Livan Soto on their 40-man roster.

Livan Soto is just 23-years-old. Soto used to play for the Angels, and he then joined the Orioles, and he now finds himself back with the Angels. Livan Soto has only had 64 at-bats at the major league level.

Livan Soto had a pretty decent season in 2023 in both Double-A and Triple-A. In total, Soto appeared in 110 games, he slashed .237/.342/.358, with 9 HR's, 47 RBI's, 63 BB's, and a .700 OPS.

There's been much better seasons for Livan Soto in his career. One that stands out for him is in 2022. Soto batted .281 in a total of 119 games.

There's a lot of upside when it comes to a player who is just 23-years-old. No matter what, there's always room to get better. That's exactly what Livan Soto can do. Soto has made impressive strides, and he could keep doing that in 2024 with the Angels.
