The Washington Nationals No. 2 prospect is outfielder James Wood. He is baseball's No. 14 prospect. Wood is just 21-years-old. Spring Training just recently started. James Wood is off to a hot start for the Nationals in Spring Training. It's something all Nationals fans should be happy about.

The Washington Nationals got James Wood in a trade with the San Diego Padres in 2022. The Nationals received James Wood and many others for Juan Soto and Josh Bell. The Nationals look to have won that trade as Juan Soto is now on the Yankees and Josh Bell is now on the Miami Marlins.

The Nationals haven't had much success since winning the 2019 World Series. They've been in a rebuild ever since, and James Wood is apart of that. It's a small sample size, but in just 6 plate appearances, Wood is batting .500, with 2 HR's, 4 RBI's, and a 2.000 OPS.

If James Wood keeps this hot start to Spring Training up, he could have a really good chance to make the opening day roster for the Nationals. For all baseball fans, it could be a cool thing to see players performing well on the Nationals.
