This off-season is the first time Joey Votto has been a free-agent in his entire 17-year career. Votto has been a Cincinnati Red his entire career. Although, the Reds have moved on from Votto, making him a free-agent. Joey Votto has made it clear he wants to continue to play baseball.


According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, three teams are currently expressing interest in Joey Votto. Bob Nightengale didn't list the teams who are currently showing interest in Joey Votto, although you could definitely guess one, and that would be his hometown Toronto Blue Jays. It's not confirmed that the Blue Jays are showing interest in Votto, but it would make a ton of sense.


Joey Votto is still producing at a decent level, which is why he wants to continue to play. Joey Votto is 40-years-old. He is a baseball legend. Joey Votto has played 2,056 career games, he's slashed .294/.409/.511, with 356 HR's, 1,114 RBI's, .920 OPS, and a 64.4 WAR.


It's unknown who will sign Joey Votto, but whoever signs him will know exactly what they will get from Joey Votto. He will bring a veteran leadership and production in a lineup. It's going to be interesting to see who will sign the veteran first baseman, Joey Votto.
