Yankees Officially Eliminated, Miss Playoffs For the First Time Since 2016

The clock has finally ran out for the New York Yankees. With yesterdays 7-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Bronx Bombers have officially been eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 2016. Coming with the unfamiliar territory, fans have been calling for changes within the club.

There were way too many question marks surrounding the 2023 Yankees. Aging veterans, confusing moves by the front office, and not adding enough talent during the offseason were just a few reasons why the Yankees are where they are.

When asked by the media about their failure of a season, Yankee captain Aaron Judge had a few thoughts:

"If I’m not standing here talking to you guys after a championship, it’s a failure,” Aaron Judge said. “After all of the work you’ve put in the offseason, training, preparation, coming out here on a daily basis, rain or shine, to play a game – it’s about bringing a championship back. That’s why we play. That’s why I’m here.
“That’s why I came back to New York with this group of guys, to build something and get New York back to where it’s supposed to be. When you don’t show up and produce and get kicked out like this in the regular season, that’s a big failure right there. We’ve got a lot of work to do, a lot of internal talks, a lot of stuff we’ve got to get figured out."
Judge said "I've got some ideas" on org changes. "But it's going to take all of us. It's going to be talking w/ everybody in the organization, all the way down through the minor league stuff, all the way up to the top. There's a lot of stuff we have to work on to improve."

Aaron Judge has been quoted saying that every season that does not end in a World Series coming back to the Bronx is a failure. Something all Yankee fans can get behind.

The Yankees have way too many problems for the second highest payroll in all of baseball. The Yankee fans are expecting big changes surrounding the entire club. However, experts have been torn between whether the moves will be made or not. The club has not seen or even been in a Fall Classic since their last win in 2009 against the Philadelphia Phillies. It's going to be a long and interesting offseason for the New York Yankees.
