The San Diego Padres have ran into one of the biggest problems they can have as a franchise, a money problem. Reported by Buster Olney of ESPN, "absolutely, 100% he's going to be traded before the season". Olney stated this when he was on the Michael Kay Show. This news opened up the flood gates with rumors.

Soto is only 25 years old and has the potential to be one of the greatest players the game has ever seen. Soto slashed .275/.410/.519 with 35 home runs and 109 RBI. His talents would make any trade destination instantly better. With Soto coming up on a contract year with a big pay day, whichever team Soto gets shipped to will likely have to sign a hefty check for the young superstar.

Teams that come to mind that should be interested in the youngster are the Mets, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Orioles, Mariners, and the Yankees. Surely many other teams will be interested and will have the advantage given the Padres desperate money situation. If the Padres decide to trade Soto, it will give them the opportunity to reset their finances and get a nice return for the superstar.
