The 2024 Major League Baseball season is at the point where everyone will start hearing about players struggling/performing really well. There have been players who standout when talking about who is struggling to start the season. One of those main players is St. Louis Cardinals first baseman, Paul Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt has been one of the most disappointing players all season long.

The Cardinals as a team has also been struggling this season. Paul Goldschmidt is a big part of the Cardinals struggles. He is supposed to be one of the main guys on the Cardinals offense. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case so far this season.

Through a total of 36 games, the St. Louis Cardinals currently sit at 15-21. With that 15-21 record, the Cardinals also sit in last place of the National League Central division.

Baseball is a lot better when Paul Goldschmidt is playing at a high level. It’s been very surprising for many to see the type of season Goldschmidt has had. In a total of 35 games and 133 at-bats, Goldschmidt is slashing .195/.287/.263, with just 2 home runs, 11 RBI’s, and an OPS of .550.

If the Cardinals want any chance at making the playoffs this season, they need Paul Goldschmidt to turn it around. It’s only a matter of time when Paul Goldschmidt starts performing well, he has shown what he can do. Paul Goldschmidt just needs to focus on the future and just hit like everyone knows he can.
